| Uwa and Bisi are young female friends engaged as salon apprentices. In their quest for better lives, they come in contact with Madam Justina though unbeknownst to them, is a notorious human trafficker. Uwa’s support system alerts her to the potential dangers of going to Europe to work in a salon, while Bisi disregards the same. Bisi is subsequently trafficked under dehumanizing conditions to Libya and must find a way to survive, and potentially return home. In Broken Promises, we're plunged into an exposé on human trafficking, the victimization of young girls and the harsh realities of sex trafficking that occurs in the region. |
