Nigerian Folktales and Legends |
Folktales, myths and legends have always an been essential part of the Nigerian ( and African ) cultural heritage. Passed on from generation to generation via oral tradition, they shape our beliefs and values and nurture our imagination. I grew up listening to folktales by my grandmother who just had a way of making the stories come alive in my imagination and teach morals without preaching. Our story-telling time was sacred and it created a strong bond between my grandma and I. She is in transition in Heaven now, but she lives on in my heart. I compiled these stories in the hope that they’ll inform, inspire and entertain you and your children as they did me. |
