Just a day to the dedication of the first monastery in Nigeria, an important relic gets stolen from the altar. All accusing fingers point at everyone and no one at all. The situation is further complicated by the rift and disharmony among the monks leading to much distrust. At the heart of this imbroglio is an embattled Christopher who is the Prior and abbot-elect of the about-to-be- dedicated monastery. His position, promotion, and all he had lived and laboured for in all his adult life appear to be crumbling before his very eyes. The monks follow all obtainable clues to find the thief and the relic. Little do they know that the snake they seek is right beneath the grass. By the time they come to discover the identity of the actual thief, it is almost too late to correct the huge damage already done.
