#Hernortherstory (Memoirs of a Nigerian Corper) is a memoir of the writer's National Youth Service experience in words and a few illustrations by artist, Osaze Amadasun. Morayo Koleosho's regular life was disrupted on the day of her convocation at the University of Lagos where she and her friends received news of their posting to serve in the dreaded northern Nigeria zone, where Boko Haram, a notorious terrorist group was prevalent. The young graduates were petrified to say the least. Their notice was short, a few days, leaving little or no time to properly prepare for the journey ahead. Morayo leaves Lagos for Kano with a burdened heart full of skepticism and struggles, but with time, surprisingly falls in love. Amidst the scorching heat and the chaos; a mob attack, a few bombings and other mishaps, she discovers a series of adventures, breathtaking landscapes, and uniquely loving people; family. The book is very relatable, easy to read and funny.
