footprints of my kin

Footprints of my Kin is a book of stories. The plot of the book is in yesteryears. The literary genre is historical fiction. In many instances, i can deepen authentication. Uformba Dede, a character in the book is alive. He is my witness. The stories are different annals and anecdotes but their colours are common. The book is about a people, black Africans who normally talked of themselves as ‘same blood’. They considered themselves consanguineous when races were made. These were the indigenous people of the evergreen Lower River Niger. Nature did map the people who lived there together using barriers such as the the sea, rivers, swamp covered with woody vegetation and hilly land mass topped by deep channels of gully erosion. Crossing any of these was a nightmare. Amaise was insular. This condition helped in no small way in cultural isolation, preservation and homogeneity.
