Female genital mutilation is not just a practice that violates the dignity of girls and women, who should be free to make their own decisions about their bodies. It also causes terrible pain, long-term health problems, and psychological distress. Likewise, it is a violation of medical ethics because it leads to unnecessary suffering and violates the rights of girls and women to be treated with respect. - This book addresses the following questions: - Why do people mutilate female genitals - What are the medical consequences - What are the psychological effects - Is female genital mutilation as bad as people think - Why can't we just ignore it
Each poem in this collection is connected to the next one, in the sense of seeking a chief aim of helping you gain enlightenment and discernment. That is why the various poems explore such themes as growing older, seeking knowledge, overcoming fear, embracing nature, and living purposefully, among others. A wise man has good sense, good judgement, good thoughts, good intentions, good deeds. When we have wisdom we have many good qualities in us which are necessary to live a noble life. This collection is aptly named ‘Lines of Wisdom’ because the poetry verses call you to challenge yourself to be more intentional about life. I encourage you to reflect upon the words and let them sink into your soul.
The stories address the vicissitudes of human nature, a factor that informs our everyday interactions. Therefore, they promise to enrich your experience in more ways than one. The three stories in this collection draw strength from different perspectives. The stories are for my amusement, to entertain others, and to influence my environment. For me, writing stories is also a shortcut for thinking about important subjects that influence us; it's an excellent way to practice thinking. This affirms the saying, that the world we have created is a process of our thinking.
